From innovative idea to global markets
In the first half of the nineteen nineties, two designers, Bartolomej Janek and Tibor Fecko, invented and built a new unique high-precision reduction gear. The motivation for its development was the elimination of operational deficiencies of industrial robots. In 1997, the first production plant was built in a green field in Prešov, Slovakia. Since it was a new product, the company’s priority was to set up optimal technological processes and also to win the trust of future customers. Through intensive development and sales activities, in the course of several years, SPINEA started to succeed among the manufacturers of high-precision reduction gears. From 2000, when the serial production started, the sale volume grew systematically as a result of securing the first major contract from KUKA.
That growth attracted repeated investments, which resulted in the opening of a second production plant in Prešov in 2007. Further extensive investment, made between 2012 and 2014, brought expansion, with a new production hall and the purchase of further modern technologies, with the objective to significantly increase the annual production capacity.
