The integration of the TwinSpin® cycloidal reduction high precision gearbox from the SPINEA into a wide range of specific applications in opera halls is the result of the extensive theoretical and practical experience of the highly qualified experts employed by the company, which has also been satisfying the highly specified needs of customers around the world for years.
TwinSpin® high-precision gearboxes play a key role in the proper control, parameter setting and precision maintenance of the particle accelerators at CERN. They help to ensure the proper functioning and performance of these complex scientific facilities.
The aim of this article is to provide more detailed information about this parameter in TwinSpin® gears. Further on, we give short examples with different lost motion setups to show the differences between backlash and lost motion, and finally we mention something about the companion of lost motion - hysteresis.
The BRUBOTICS robotics research group of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) in Brussels approached SPINEA, s.r.o. with an innovative exoskeleton project in which an extremely ultra-light and efficient actuator is required that goes beyond the capabilities of commonly available current technologies. Combining the Maxon EC-flat motor with the new TwinSpin® 50 M-series gearbox from SPINEA® resulted in a compact and lightweight actuator (650 g) with excellent efficiency even under part load.
SPINEA, s.r.o. has been supplying its reduction gearboxes for several years to Filmotechnic, a leader in the development of special camera systems for the film industry. Their camera systems have been used on many successful feature films such as Fast and furious 9, James Bond, Mission impossible, Transformers, Transporter, Avatar, Hobbits, Tomb raider, Star wars, etc.
Robots for outdoor environments have created a huge opportunity for development in the areas of autonomous driving, artificial intelligence, orientation in space, and movement in challenging environments. Gearboxes from SPINEA® will be part of this process and progress.
The Slovak company SPINEA® uses sophisticated analytical IT tools to analyze the natural frequencies of individual components and the resulting whole when designing products. These contribute significantly to improving the final product - the TwinSpin® gearbox, the operating characteristics, and the overall service life of the customer's equipment that uses the company's products
Prešov, Slovakia 2.5.2022 - SPINEA is completing a several-year-long process of selection of a strategic partner in order to cement its position as a leading supplier of high-precision gearboxes in robotics and automation. A new partnership will strengthen SPINEA’s capital position and enable SPINEA to accelerate the growth of production capacity and to accelerate the investments in new product development.
The TwinSpin® high-precision backlash-free cycloidal reduction gearboxes manufactured by SPINEA® are among the world market leaders. The individual components of gearboxes are manufactured to extremely high precision, but there is always some dimensional variance in series production.
Each medical application has different requirements put on motion equipment it uses. On the next lines, we want to point out a few technical features of TwinSpin® reduction gears, which may be interesting for designers of medical equipment.
The cooperation of the two companies resulted in the special product designed for the Israeli company of radar development. The final product represents the integration of the planet gear Nidec and cycloidal reduction gear TwinSpin® from the company SPINEA®.
Over the past two years, SPINEA® has developed a specialized product for a high-tech company in the aerospace and defense industry.
The majority of TwinSpin® gearbox applications run at ambient temperatures typical for industrial environments ranging from 10 up to 30 °C. But still, there are some applications that operate at lower temperatures, sometimes at extreme ones.
Together with Siemens, SPINEA® has developed a precision rotary drive unit that can be integrated directly into the control system of KUKA's robotic cell positioners and into Siemens' control system.
